New and Changed in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition Update 10

The following items summarize the new features and enhancements in the current OpenPlant Modeler release.

Feature Description
PlantSight Integration Workflow Updates
  • Free All operation mechanism is now improved to delete all the NEW components (including logical items) from current DGN.
  • Workflow implemented for Cross Pipeline ISOSHEETS.
  • Functionality has been added to delete Orphan components/Joints from PlantSight.
  • Performance improvements for loading PlantSight nodes under Explorer with increasing number of components referenced out in active DGN.
  • Locking/Unlocking mechanism improvements for Multi-User scenarios.
  • Added Copy Message option in CheckIn Comment dialog.
  • Example Data Extensibility Electron app - Ability to Support MS-Access Mode Database.
Modeling Updates
  • Ability to place Piping Components near to the Equipment zone.
  • Ability to make valid connection on routing components towards the referenced DGN's component.
  • Ability to place Fasteners by using connection criteria.
  • Functionality has been added to keep the same Tag Number for copying an Equipment.
  • Ability to remove Backing Ring from Lap Joint Stub End assembly.
  • Functionality has been added to define different colors for different Weld Types.
  • Ability to add the piping component as item type in the internal drawing Report.
  • Ability to see the Parametric Solid Features When Custom Equipment is Dropped.
  • Ability to display Tags (Non-Unique) for Plant break down structure.
  • Added Creation Attribute for creating Custom Component.
  • Functionality has been provided to display a Warning for placing short length Pipe.
  • Added mechanism to choose if referenced models need to be scanned for connections and use in Pipeline Manager.
  • Ability to place a Tap end or Branch connection within the minimum distance from a Pipe end. Minimum Pipe Length
  • Bentley Automation Service support for OpenPlant Modeler.
Delivered Workspace & Worksets Updates
  • Added tables for SIGHT_GLASS and FLOW_METER in Non-Standard Catalogs and updated the Example specs.
  • Color Table is now updated and consistent with MicroStation's Color Table.
Victaulic Catalog Updates
  • Updated Victaulic Catalogs and Specs.
  • Graphical improvements for Victaulic components.
  • Updated Victaulic joints to have better check on materials and coupling types.
  • Edit Manipulation workflow improvements for Victaulic components assembly.
Unified KKS Workspace implementation KKS workset will not be delivered with Update 10 release. It will be posted separately on Software Downloads post commercial release of Update 10. Please contact Bentley Support for more details on this.
ProStructures Support ProStructures Modeling tools are now available in OpenPlant Modeler as default Structural tools.
AutoPLANT models import functionality Updates (Technology Preview) Ability to import AutoPLANT models into OpenPlant Modeler that have already been synced into iModel using 'iModel Connector for AutoPLANT', and then ultimately convert them to OpenPlant format for editing.
New Ideas Portal

Access the new OpenPlant Ideas portal (https://openplant.ideas.aha.io/) from the OpenPlant Modeler interface. Use this portal to submit your product improvement suggestions, vote on other ideas, and provide feedback.

About Technology Preview Features

Some features delivered with this edition of OpenPlant Modeler are specifically identified as "Technology Preview" features.

Technology Preview features are:

  • currently unsupported
  • may not be functionally complete
  • not suitable for use/deployment in production

However, these features are provided to you as a courtesy and the primary goal is for the feature to gain wider exposure with the goal of full support in the future.

You may find these features useful in a non-production environment. You are welcome to provide feedback and functionality suggestions for a Technology Preview feature before it becomes fully supported. Bentley Systems intends to fully support Technology Preview features in a future release, at which time the features will no longer be identified as Technology Preview features.
